Remote Work – Pressure To Always Be On Camera

Many have talked about how the pandemic has accelerated the move to remote work. Over the last 2 years people have gotten a taste of being able to chose where they work, how to work, and how to be comfortable while working.

One of the major pressures employees have been facing has been the push to return to the office. Another, which is not as often discussed, is the push to be on camera for every meeting when not in the office.

Is it a bad idea to demand this of employees? For those pushing this, what are some things they are missing?

On this week’s episode of the 33 Tangents podcast, Jim and Jason discuss the fatigue and concerns employees have when faced with the decision to turn on their web cam for meetings.
